Tariq Dah Besar!

Late Friday night, my cousin, Sot-Sot texted to inform that they were going to send off her brother, Tariq for college registration on next morning. I told her, 'Fetch me tmrw! I'll be ready by 10am.'  'Along nak ikut!'
So, on Saturday morning, I waited for their call till after 10, to no avail! 
I decided to pick up the phone and called Tariq and asked his whereabout,  apparently he was waiting for Sot-Sot to get ready, and would then fetch me.
After hung up, I quickly ironed my clothes. As I wanted to step into the bath, my phone beeped, a text came in.
The txt read : 'Along mandi sekarang. Pakai mcm kakak!'
What the???  I replied,
 'Umi suruh ganti Umi, buat apa nak jadi kakak kakak pulak?' 
'Kalau mcm Umi, pakai baju seluar tidur je. Tp handbag mesti mahal!' 
I laughed out loud, a  nd cepat2 mandi...

In return, Mak Lang, I still think Sukey is very nice, and suits me well!

i always love surprises! since i have nvr had good surprise, thus i planned for one (or may be 2)!
when he woke up that Friday morning (on his actual birthday), he was surprised to see a white box wrapped with black ribbon (picture in my fb!) on our dining. he didnt open up (or even touch it) til i woke up! he was malu-malu! sumpah! dia tak nak bukak his gift, til i acukan the box to hidung dia. dia bukak2 jer tutup kotak, smelled it, and already knew what was inside the white box! if you wanna know what's inside it? ask him!
and so he thought that was it!
since ths year, ada rezeki lebih sikit, i planned in advance to have another surprise for my other half on his big day (he turned a year older on 5th June every year)! i was contemplating to throw a party or sit-eat-chill session. i opted for the second one, since he had to work on saturday, the 6th.
few days prior to 'my' plan, i suggested him to have a buffet dinner at ths place called H.alia @ S.ime D.arby C.onvention Centre. we've never been there, and shd gv it a try! he just nodded - and i made him promise, NO last minute back off (fyi, he loves last minute changes!). so, he promised!
i then started my game plan - txted his sisters (who stay around KL), my cousin and his friend's wife - invited them to join the surprise.
only one sister (and her family) could make it, my cousin, Lina & hubby Joy, and his friend & wifey. i made clear to them - dont spill the bean, anythg just txt me, ONLY me.
the sun'day' came, and he only got back from work in the afternoon! i txted everyone, and changed the 'meeting' time from 6 to 8 (i knew it took him a while to get up from his rest!)
my youngest sister, Aye, who stayed overnight at our place, was there to join us. she didnt even know abt the 'surprise' too! what she knew, we were all going out for dinner!
at around 6 plus, my SIL txted that she was already there, and enjoying the spread! she told me where they parked their car, so that i wouldnt take the bday boy near their lot!
when we reached SD.CC, i managed to deviate the bday boy's excitedness, and he didnt see my in-law's car at the parking bay! BUT, as we were about to enter the restaurant, i saw his friend's wife sitting near the entrance! damn!!!
'eh you, tuh bukan Sya ke?' he asked when we were walking towards the entrance.
'no lah!'
then Aye boleh pulak, 'along, tuh kawan along lah!'
'tak lah!' and i pushed him inside the restaurant.
however, he stopped when saw his friend talking on the phone, somewhere 30 feet from us, and called him! chiissss!!!!
his friend terpaksalah acted like he was there for some function, and they talked a bit outside.
i grabbed the wife and walked in. my BIL was already at our reserved table when we arrived, while SIL and nephew were out to the surau for prayers.
when bday boy set foot near our table, he was startled to see his BIL, and asked, 'apa kau buat sini?'
and the BIL replied, 'surprise kan kau lah!'
bday boy grinned, and turned to his friend and asked, 'abes kau? mana member2 kau?'
'aku pon surprisekan kau, tapi kat luar lah!' told his friend!
even his nephew was upbeat and shouted for 'pakteh' when he saw the birthday boy! he was indeed blown away and grinned from ear to ear the whole evening!
at around half past 8, my cousin and her husband walked in, and again, another surprise for the birthday boy!
i totally forgot about the camera (besar gabak pon boleh tak ingat?), hence not many pictures taken - we were busy eating and catching up (while Aye, kept on pergi patah balik enjoying the scrumptious food!).
in short, i may say tht he was ecstatic... werent ya, kelip-kelip?

again, ths year's party was celebrated in the community hall beside the pool...
mak was overjoyed, mamas/ibus were upbeat, papas/ayah/baba were just!
and the children --- walking on the air!

finally, after the hard work and sleepless nights, Edri and Akuie managed to smile and introduced each other as spouses...
the solemnisation was held at bride's place in kajang (excuse me, i was so busy running around and forgot to grab my camera!) on the day before, 17th April.
the SUPER GRAND PINKish reception was held on top of KL - surrounded by pink and white sakuras and roses. sweet!

Meritorious!!!

my routine life has started climbing up to its peak, since i last updated - with sister and cousins get-together, au pair and, nihon-tomodachino's homecoming, my annual 'back-to-my-roots' trip (that caused big hole in my pocket), weddings' preparations (NOTE the plurals), little bussiness endeavour that require some patience and yada yada yada.... Ironically, i like it!
so, for the time being, i will now need to switch on my silence-mode. hence, please expect no 'sudden quick spark' until i have found some sparkles.
On the other hand, remember the below entry?

The above girl has once again become the Glory of the family with her SPM results!
Her sacrifices to not be in numbers of family gatherings and outings, were paid off!
No doubt she is hardworking, but we didnt know how she did it... her results are FANTASTICAL, in turn makes her simply amazing!
My parents are definitely very grateful and indebted (we do too!). However, still blown away...

InsyaAllah, Allah akan mempermudahkan jalan Wawa untuk menjadi seorang doktor gigi. Amiiinnn.....

previous entry was on them hosting the farewell do.
this entry will be on us biding adieu to the 6 of them (though one will return home after a month).
some must be wondering, where is makjang, nila going? for good 4 years... insyaAllah...
not too close, not too far, just down under...
hakikatnya, far more cheap than the other side of the continent.
we are happy and excited for them. However, at the same time, agak feeling blue lah jugak...
siapa tak sedih nak berpisah. it is more moving when we have no idea, when we will be meeting again. do we have to wait for 4 years? when my sister, mak lang and cousins left us for Mil ano, we always feel doleful! and yet here is another family leaving to DownUnder. unlike when they were first posted to S ingapore years ago, we didnt have that much anxiety. probably, singapore is just a 'cause-way away'. furthermore, we knew that we could afford to visit them.
pejam celik pejam celik nanti dah 4 tahun. (kalau kene cross-posting lagi macam mana? seronok dan bersedih lah lagi kita! seronok dapat berangan kalau ada rezeki boleh melawat mereka!)
mungkin makjang perlu ada fotopages lah. jadi kita semua boleh tahu perkembangan anak2 bujang dan anak dara 'gedik' kesayangan makjang tuh kan? mana lah tau, lepas setahun dua si 'gedik' kak nam tuh eksyen tak mau cakap melayu dgn kitorang kan? (time tuh i will push her shoulder lightly and say, 'Lu apehal????') mcm mana nak letak gambar? jgn risau, ramai anak2 sedara makjang yg sedia menolong!

After a few bisik-bisik, berangan-berangan, they finally received the 'posting' letter.
The doa selamat and makan-makan was held on their last weekend at home. And everything was like a 'last kopek'.
It was indeed a depressing moment... the house that we normally 'terjah' for party/gathering/buka puasa will now be missed!
I personally, will miss my usual lepak place after work, (while waiting for *+*kelip-kelip*+* to finish). No more little gedik begging me to do Henna on her hands (talking abt Henna, kitorang semua semestinya mengusik budak gedik tuh, 'Eh! Ini kenduri orang kawen ke? Siap ade khemah, lepas tuh ada orang pakai inai!' Kita semua pun ketawa!), and short of one little gedik kita nak sakat! Dang!!!
